The 2019 Indonesian Electric Car Competition (KMLI) ended last Saturday. The Garuda UNY Team has participated in the entire series of events at the Bandung State Polytechnic. On the last day of this time, there were a lot of categories during the announcement of the winners, the four of which were slalom, acceleration and braking, gradeability and parking category. In addition, there are also other categories that do not include the race category, namely Presentation, Best Driver, Best Team and others. Some of the 25 teams that participated in the KMLI took home the winners in their respective categories, one of which was Garuda UNY.

The team won first place in the Best Braking Category championship. By using special tires that are far different from most other teams, GUT was able to excel in competing against the teams in this category. “We are delighted to be able to make a comeback in the championship that we have been considering for some time. Even though we were on hiatus for quite a long time, we were able to bring the Best Braking Category Award and get a lot of lessons and experiences here, ”explained Siti Soleha Indasah, as the team manager of GUT.

The Slalom Category Championship and parade around the pavilion and the Polban Directorate ended the 2019 KMLI. After all the competition activities ended, the team did not forget to greet and take pictures with the teams from Yogyakarta. Apart from YSU, several universities from Yogyakarta sent their teams to compete in this electric car championship, namely the Yacaranda UGM team, Ulil Albab Student Center UII, SPEEDER TEAM HMTM from the Yogyakarta National Institute of Technology, and Bima Sena II from Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University. These teams produced champions from various categories, including UII with third place in the Parking Category, UGM with second place in the Slalom Category, and UMY winning third place in the Uphill Power Category.
